The PIMS Defensive Driving Train the Trainer course is designed for professionals responsible for teaching drivers how to recognise road hazards, reduce driving risks and adopt safer driving behaviours. The programme combines defensive-driving principles with the instructional techniques required to deliver effective driver-safety training.

Assessment & Evaluation

The PIMS Defensive Driving Train the Trainer assessment consists of three main components:

  1. Written Examination
    • Questions covering defensive-driving principles, road-safety responsibilities, hazard recognition and instructional techniques.
  2. Practical Driving Assessment
    • Learners demonstrate hazard recognition, defensive-driving techniques and safe vehicle operation.
  3. Training Demonstration
    • Learners conduct a simulated defensive-driving training session to demonstrate instructional, communication and classroom-management skills.

Successful completion of all required assessment components is necessary to complete the programme.
